Maximiliano Herrera's Human Rights Site is dedicated to the promotion of democracy and freedom worldwide. The Editor and his collaborators are always working on improving and upgrading our human rights resources and documents. We hope to give a useful service to everyone who is interested in politics and human rights.

Electoral Calendar which is a full, complete and updated list of the past and next elections around the world including presidential, legislative and local elections.It also includes popular referenda and party conventions. It was created in 1999 and during the following months has improved and now it is recognized as one of the best electoral calendars on the WEB.

Electoral Democracies ranks all the independent countries in three categories: Electoral Democracy, Pseudo Democracy and Dictatorship according to their electoral system. It also includes a list of the countries without elections.

Freedom in the World is a list of all the independent countries ranked according to their political freedoms and civil rights. It was created in 1997 and it is often updated. It also includes an internal link to

Freedom in the Territories which ranks the freedoms in the non independent territories.

World Rank ranks all the independent countries according to their living standard. There are separated rankings for each continent. It was the first creation, in 1994 and it has been published on Fidonet.It also includes an internal link to

A World in Trouble ranks all the independent countries according to the perception of the risk of a coup or a new conflict. It was created in 2000.

New Countries is the newest page and shows the possibilities of some territories reaching independence. It also includes a new link to another page showing the possibilities of some countries to be annexated another country in the future.It was the latest arrival, in 2001.

I have been learning politics and human rights since i was 18. I use a lot of different sources of information. I have friends and collaborators who travel to different parts of the world and make full reports about the human rights situations of particular countries. I also have contacts with some political opposition figures who live in or outside those countries.
